It was hard getting up this morning, still felt really tired. Alicia and I needed to go to the Joaquin Sorolla train station to book our trains out of Valencia on Friday. To do this we had to navigate the Metro again except this time there was no English speaking person to help, so the Spanish speaking guy tried his best to explain. We bought our tickets ourselves at the machine and realized it was actually quite easy to figure out what ticket we wanted.
(I’m rocking the whole underground train thing! NZ should try it.)
Trying to reserve a ticket for Friday was a little hard because we couldn’t find out which desk we were meant to go to. However we were finally directed to an English speaking lady and reserving our train was really easy. We then made our way back to our room to drop off the eurail passes before heading back out to the Old Town of Valencia.
A park on the way.
At first we were greeted with the below.
The streets were picturesque but overall we were a little disappointed just because of the amount of graffiti everywhere. However we then made our way to the Cathedral and realized we had just been taking photos of apartments and things which was only half of the old town.
We paid to go into the cathedral and thought it was pretty interesting.
We went up the old tower (which had 207 steps in a small spiral staircase – it was pretty dizzying and trying to pass people as they were coming down was scary!), and the views were amazing! It was worth it.
We spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around before finding dinner to eat (at like 4 because we were so tired).
We ended the afternoon with Kinder Bueno ice cream!! Kinder surprise as an ice cream was amazing!!
We’re now chilling for the rest of the evening. I’m not sure what we’re doing tomorrow but we may see the Modern city of Valencia.
