London’s sights

We were informed by Alesha’s friend of a free walking of tour called the Sandeman walking tour which took us around the main sights of London. I actually quite enjoyed the tour as the guide was funny and it was a light quick tour, nothing intense. It was technically free but of course you paid something, it was just whatever you thought it was worth. Had I not been on a budget, I would have given more than I had.

The guard on the left kept looking at is which was actually kind of creepy because he wouldn’t move his head when he did it… I’m sure he’s nice enough though. We took photos with him.

It turns out Saturday was the Queens birthday so Buckingham Palace was packed for the parade. We didn’t really get to see the palace because of this. It also just happens that the royals could be seen on the balcony! That was quite exciting.

We then finished the tour off at the Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben).

After the tour the guide invited us to a pub that the walking tour company has a deal with, we decided to go and had a pub meal for lunch. English pubs have an awesome vibe, I really enjoyed it which may be weird but pubs are cool.

After the tour we made our way to Westminster Abbey then to Victoria park to take photos. Unfortunately the weather got colder and started drizzling, I’ll have more of that to look forward to…

We spent the rest of the afternoon looking around the shops in Oxford Circus, it was pretty busy but we had been warned to hardly be able to move, luckily for us it didn’t seem to be that busy.

The Disney store!!

That night we went to one of Alesha’s friends leaving party (they’re moving back to NZ) which was in a pub that was playing the soccer game on that night (England vs Italy). That was a pretty awesome vibe, it was the equivalent to NZ and rugby.
